As humans we are blessed to have a multitude of senses. Traditional senses include sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. In this blog post we are going to focus on the sense of “smell”.

As a hot tub owner you understandably enjoy the sense of touch from the warm and massaging water action thrust from the hydrotherapy jets and the sense of hearing from the hypnotic sounds of bubbles and water movement, but an often-overlooked opportunity is from the sense of smell.

While looking for a way to spend your cold winter days – yearning for spring to arrive – plan for where and how you can place natural plants that have the aromas you would enjoy the most while immersed in your hot tub. If you have one favorite fragrance that you could never tire of consider where you can plant a bed large enough to enjoy the sweet smell of its blooms from your spa all season.

If you enjoy a variety of smells such as those from gardenia, rosemary, lavender or lily, you may consider potted plants that can be moved or exchanged to a distance that provides the perfect level of fragrance.

It’s never too early to plan for things that help you enjoy life. Let natural aromatherapy become part of your spa experience.
